The Court of Accounts shares the Moroccan model of financial jurisdictions with a Malian delegation
The First President of the Court of Audit, Zineb El Adaoui, met, on Thursday March 9, 2023, with the Auditor General of the Republic of Mali, Samba Alhamdou Baby, and the President of the Accounts Section of the Malian Supreme Court, Mama Sininta, with the aim of learning about the experience of the Court of Accounts in the field of supreme auditing of public finances.
During this interview, the First President presented explanations on the characteristics of the attributions of the Court of Accounts, which consist in particular in the exercise of jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional ones, while ensuring a complementarity between these attributions and emphasizing, in this sense, the importance of the role of the integrated control which aims at creating bridges between the above-mentioned attributions, in particular the judgement of the accounts, the control of the budgetary and financial management and discipline, as well as the contribution of their results within the framework of the compulsory declaration of the heritage.
For their part, the members of the delegation of the Republic of Mali welcomed the Moroccan experience, expressing their willingness to deepen cooperation and exchange expertise with the Court of Accounts in order to strengthen their organizational and professional capacities.
Mr. Baby and Mr. Sininta also gave an overview of the place of the two structures they chair within the institutional edifice of the State of Mali, as well as the competencies of each structure separately.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to join efforts to implement cooperation between the two countries in favor of supreme audit, particularly with regard to the development of the principles of good governance, transparency and the correlation between responsibility and accountability.
