Working visit of The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Violence against Children to the Court of Accounts
Mrs. Zineb ADAOUI, First President of the Court of Accounts, met with Mrs. Najat M’jid Maalla, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General in charge of the issue of violence against children, in the presence of the officials and magistrates of the competent chamber in social issues. The discussions focused on the current situation of the protection of minor children in our country and the challenges and obstacles faced, both social and economic
During this meeting, the First President presented the missions that the Court of Accounts performs in order to contribute to the improvement of the quality of the national system of social integration and family. She also mentioned the importance that the institution attaches to the control of the management of programs and social agencies and the monitoring of indicators relating to the protection of children and vulnerable categories as well as the guarantee of their rights, including education and health.
For her part, Mrs. M’jid Maalla emphasized the efforts made by Morocco through the establishment of major social programs aimed at the reintegration of minor children and their protection from exploitation. She also insisted on the need to review the investment in buildings and centers and focus on capacity building and early intervention to the problems faced by families as well as the establishment of a culture of coordination between the various stakeholders and a system of continuous evaluation.
Mrs. M’jid Maala also praised the active and independent role of the Court of Accounts in the evaluation, thereby contributing to the improvement of the effectiveness of social and legal mechanisms necessary for the protection of minor children in Morocco.
